Recombinant Ace-Green Fluorescent Protein (rAceGFP) is purified from
transformed E. coli using an appropriate method which ensures optimal purity of the
recombinant protein and maintenance of fluorescence. rAceGFP is 25-kDa monomer with 238 amino acids.
It has absorption and emission spectra identical to those for the expressed AceGFP (fig.1).
The purified protein retains its fluorescence capability under various harsh conditions, including
heat, pH extremes, exposure to chaotropes, and incubation with low concentrations of detergents.
rAceGFP is suitable as control reagent for AceGFP expression using the Ace-Green expression vectors.
